REQUEST FOR VOLUNTEERS FOR KDD-2007 BIRDS OF FEATHER (BOF)
As part of KDD 07, we are attempting to organize Birds of Feather (BOF)
sessions. According to O'Reilly "Birds of Feather (BOF) sessions provide face to
face exposure to those interested in the same projects and concepts". BOFs can
be organized around research areas, application topics, or projects. BOFs are
entirely upto the participants. KDD posts the topics as part of the conference
announcement, provides the space and time (e.g., lunch tables). You provide the
topic and conduct the BOF.
Suggested topics for BOF include:
- Internet data mining
- Social networks data mining
- eCommerce data mining
- Data mining to support service (CRM, Technical service, Break/Fix)
- Data mining to support supply chain optimization
Feel free to add others.
With this note we are trying to gauge interest in BOFs and the topics for
those BOFs. If you are interested, please send a note to sankarv at crystaliz
dot com. If there is enough interest, we will organize a forum to help in
coordinating the topics and the BOF logistics.
Expressions of interest are due no later than December 15, 2006.
