Applied Data Science Invited Speakers

The Applied Data Science Invited Talks will provide a venue for leading experts in the world of applied data mining and knowledge discovery. These invited talks will feature highly influential speakers who have directly contributed to successful data mining applications in their respective fields. The talks and discussions will focus on innovative and leading-edge, large-scale industry or government applications of data mining in areas such as finance, health-care, bio-informatics, public policy, infrastructure, telecommunications, social media and computational advertising.


Keynote: Danielle Gewurz

Danielle Gewurz

Deloitte Consulting

Danielle is a data science leader at Deloitte, where she has been working in AI/ML for the last four years. She leads teams working on supervised and unsupervised fraud and anomaly detection, and in opioid risk modeling for insurers and states. She specializes in development of recommender systems and unsupervised anomaly detection, but has led a variety of ML tasks in supervised learning and natural language processing. Danielle has an MS in Data Science and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon. She previously spent several years doing survey research and statistical analysis.
