Health Day at KDD
KDD 2018 is proud to organize a Health Day dedicated to bringing together domain and machine learning experts to discuss challenges and trends in the healthcare industry as well as techniques and methodologies machine learning community is using and in process of developing to address these challenges.
Deep Learning Day
For the first time at KDD, we are organizing a full Deep Learning Day as a key event, specifically dedicated to the field. The goal will be to provide a clear, wide overview of recent developments in deep learning, including emerging topics deserving of more attention, such as graph convolutional neural networks or computational optimal transport.
Global AI Initiatives
AI is becoming mainstream research driving the new industrial revolution. This is the opportune time for creating roadmaps of understanding the impact of AI on the society and the world. Many countries in the last few years have made national wide initiatives on AI development. In this session, we invited the key players in several national initiatives to discuss on the subject: how we create policies around investment in AI research and education, social policies such as in security, privacy and safety issues of AI.

Announcing the KDD 2018 Startup Research Award Winners
ACM SIGKDD is pleased to announce the winners of the startup research awards for 2018. The startup research awards were started by SIGKDD in 2017, aiming to encourage the participation of small startups in the area of data science. Awards were decided on a competitive basis by the Startup Research Awards Committee. Congratulations to this year’s winners!
KDD Cup 2018
KDD Cup is the annual Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery competition organized by ACM Special Interest Group on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining, the leading professional organization of data miners. This year, participants are requested to predict PM2.5, PM10, and O3 concentration levels over the coming 48 hours for two cities.
