KDD-2000 Sixth ACM SIGKDD International Conference on About KDD-2000The continuing rapid growth of on-line data and the widespread use of databases have created a need and an opportunity for extracting useful knowledge from databases and making database access easier and more convenient. This conference will bring together researchers and practitioners and focus on new developments in Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining. The challenge of extracting knowledge from data is an are of common interest to researchers in several fields, including statistics, databases, pattern recognition, machine learning, data visualization, optimization and high-performance computing.
The Sixth ACM SIGKDD International Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data
Mining (KDD-2000) will follow on the success of previous KDD conferences,
most recently the KDD-99
conference. Starting with KDD-2000, all future conferences in this series
will be held as the annual conference of the newly formed ACM Special
Interest Group on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (SIGKDD). The technical program in KDD-2000 will consist of high quality research papers, complemented by: Industrial Track Presentations: will focus on
industrial practice and experience in KDD and will provide an excellent
opportunity for researchers and industrial practitioners to interact and spur
development of new research directions that are of possible high impact for
the KDD industry. Tutorials: Panels: Workshop
