It is our pleasure to invite you to the 20th ACM SIGKDD Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (KDD) to be held in New York, USA during August 2014. The theme of KDD-2014 will be around “using big data for the social good” and will be showcased in a special track. 

Conference posters are now available for KDD 2014, which will be taking place in New York City on August 24-27 next year. Poster mailing requests can be made through our online form here. The ACM SIGKDD election results were recently concluded. The new SIGKDD leadership team took office on July 1, 2013. The newly elected chair of SIGKDD is Prof. Bing Liu, professor at University of Illinois at Chicago. Prof. Liu is a well respected data mining and machine learning researcher and SIGKDD community is honored to have him serve as chair.
“The rise of Big Data is driving a tremendous interest in data mining research as well as real-world applications across industry and government.  SIGKDD community has a unique opportunity to lead the direction by providing a global forum to disseminate cutting edge research results and to demonstrate innovative applications” states Prof. Liu.

ACM SIGKDD is pleased to announce that Prof. Jon Kleinberg is the winner of the 2013 Innovation Award. He is recognized for his seminal contributions to the analysis of social and information networks, mining the web graph, study of cascading behaviors in networks, and the development of algorithmic models of human behavior.
ACM SIGKDD Innovation Award is the highest award for technical excellence in the field of Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (KDD). It is conferred on one individual or one group of collaborators whose outstanding technical innovations in the KDD field have had a lasting impact in advancing the theory and practice of the field.

ACM SIGKDD is pleased to announce that Dr. Gabor Melli is the winner of its 2013 Service Award. Dr. Gabor Melli is recognized for his substantial technical contributions to the practice and application of data mining and for his outstanding service to the global KDD community.
ACM SIGKDD Service Award is the highest service award in the field of knowledge discovery and data mining (KDD). It is conferred on one individual or one group for their outstanding professional services and contributions to the field of knowledge discovery and data mining.
The award will be presented at the Opening Plenary Session of the 19th ACM SIGKDD International Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining, on August 11, 2013 in Chicago, Illinois.
